Overview
This KHS Innoclean is a single-end bottle washer for returnable glass bottles, built in 2007. It cleans and de-labels empty bottles before filling. The bottles are pushed into the cells of the carrier baskets, run on heavy roller chains through a pre-soak, two pre-warming baths, the main caustic soak with under- and over-caustic label flushing and three water spray zones, and are handed back onto the bottle conveyor at the discharge.
Nineteen bottles are handled across the machine width in 4,275 cells. Output is adjustable between 2,800 and 14,500 bottles per hour; the machine was configured for 13,200 bottles per hour of 0.75 l glass bottles at 18.7 minutes total dwell time and 10.8 minutes of caustic contact.
In 2022 KHS modernised drive and operator station. The machine runs the Triple-i-Drive with individual servo-controlled geared motors and is operated from a capacitive multi-touch panel with a graphical, component-based interface and RFID user login. The modernisation is covered by a KHS manual supplement dated November 2022.
